Occasional captain of the national side, who was a MTN CAF Champions League winner with Raja Casablanca in 1999 before moving to England, where he has played at Coventry City, Norwich City and now Southampton. Played for Morocco at under-20 level at the 1997 World Youth Championships in Malaysia and for the under-23 team at the 2000 Olympic Games.
