Senegal are in all-white. Good evening and welcome to live Play-By-Play coverage of the MTN Africa Cup of Nations Group D match between Senegal and South Africa from the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi. Tonight the last two quarterfinal berths will be decided and both of these teams, apart from needing to claim a handsome win over one another in this do-or-die game, will also need the result between Tunisia and Angola in Tamale to go their way as well if they are to have any hopes of making it into the next round. The Senegal camp was thrown into disarray when coach Henryk Kasperczak resigned following their 3-1 defeat to Angola on Sunday evening, and former assistant Lamine Ndiaye has taken charge of the Lions of Teranga. South Africa also have problems of their own after the 3-1 defeat at the hands of Tunisia. The trio of goalkeeper Rowen Fernandez, defender Tsepo Masilela and midfielder Steven Pienaar all have injury worries, though it has been said that Pienaar’s ankle problem shouldn’t stop him from taking part in the match. We will keep you up to date with the latest score from Tamale between Tunisia and Senegal and exactly what is means as far as who will progress through to quarterfinals. |
